Paul McArdle has been working as a clinical dietitian for over 16 years in the NHS and for the last 14 years also in private practice. He specialises in diabetes but has led services including specialist weight management and now works in mental health also.
Paul's research career began in 2011 after being involved with updating nutrition guidelines for diabetes. This led to completion of a Masters in Research Methods and Paul is currently in the final stages of his PhD for his Clinical Doctoral Research Fellowship, funded by the National Institute for Health Research. His primary research interests are carbohydrate and type 2 diabetes and how dietary advice is formulated based on research evidence.
