- Lecturer (Teaching) for Latin America and the Caribbean, Jill Dando Institute of Security and Crime Science, UCL
I hold a BA in Communication Science, a Master in Public Policy, and a PhD in Security and Crime Science. Before joining University College London, I worked in Mexico’s Ministry of the Interior, where I was part of a government-led effort to promote scientific research on security. Later, I became a policy advisor to the Ministry’s Head of Strategic Planning. My research interests include: situational crime prevention, organised crime, quantitative criminology, and victimisation surveys. I am currently a Teaching Fellow for Latin America and the Caribbean at the UCL Jill Dando Institute of Security and Crime Science, where I deliver professional development courses to police and security professionals in Latin America and the Caribbean, and conduct research on crime and security in the LAC region.
