- PhD student, Flinders University
I am a current PhD student at Flinders University, broadly interested in evolutionary ecology and, more specifically, native bees in the subfamily Euryglossinae. I am interested in drivers of diversity, and have explored this in different bees through floral visitation habits, climatic vs. human impacts on population structure/demography and other phylogenetic//genomic focused analyses.
In my 'spare' time I volunteer on the Board for the Australian Entomological Society as their Director of Student Affairs and work as a casual academic in several topics, everything from first-year molecular biology to third-year animal behaviour. I am passionate about scientific communication and how best to disseminate knowledge to a range of audiences with a variety of media.
