Paola Pimentel Furlanetto

Paola Pimentel Furlanetto is a Ph.D. student who is passionate about power systems and how their evolution can transition society into a more efficient, environmentally responsible, and just era. Her research focuses on market structures and public policies that support the power grid through renewable energy, energy storage, carbon capture, and other disruptive technologies. Paola holds an M.S. in Energy Systems from Northeastern University, Boston, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Power Systems from the Federal University of Campina Grande, Brazil. She has worked as an energy storage research engineer in Brazil and as an electrical engineering intern at Altaeros Energies, a wind energy start-up in Massachusetts.
