- PhD candidate, invasive pathogens, Quadram Institute
I am currently working towards my PhD in Gilmour’s group, where I am investigating how Listeria monocytogenes adapts to the common stresses of food factory environments to establish highly resilient reservoirs.
Previous to this I obtained an MRes qualification from Imperial College, where I completed two projects. In the first project I investigated the effects of broad-spectrum antibiotics on the production of metabolites by gut microbiota and in the second I studied toxin-inner tube interactions in T6SS. My first research experience comes from my placement year at the University of Barcelona where I was investigating the effects of transcription elongation factors on the production of biofilms in Salmonella.
