Nicola Gray is Reader in Medicines and Health and Co-Chair of the UNESCO Chair 'Global Health & Education', at the University of Huddersfield, UK. Her research and policy interests include young people’s health, medicines information and health literacy. She was a Harkness Fellow in International Health Policy in the Division of Adolescent Medicine in Rochester, New York, USA in 2001/2.

She is a Trustee of the UK Association for Young People's Health, Vice-President for Europe of the International Association for Adolescent Health, and a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. She was awarded Fellowship of the US Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine in 2010 for research and national leadership in the field of young people’s health.

She has published many research papers and abstracts as an academic pharmacist in previous posts at the Universities of Manchester, London, Nottingham and the University of Central Lancashire. Most recent projects in young people’s health have explored the impact on adolescent well-being of the COVID-19 pandemic school closures, the experience of young people living with juvenile arthritis and their medicines use, and the possible contribution of the pharmacist to increasing health literacy across the lifecourse.
