Dr Malleson is a Professor of Spatial Science and Leader of the Institute for Spatial Data Science (ISDS) at the School of Geography, University of Leeds, UK. His research leverages techniques from computer science, statistics and machine learning, applying them to critical social problems with a strong geographical dimension. He is best known for his work on agent-based modelling -- an individual‑level simulation approach -- and for developing machine‑learning and geographical information science methods to address challenges in criminal justice, mobility and health.
