- Paediatrician & Research Fellow, Menzies School of Health Research
Dr Nicholas Fancourt is a Senior Lecturer at the Sydney Medical School and a Staff Specialist Paediatrician at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. His research focus is on the prevention and care of diseases in children, particularly those with additional social vulnerabilities.Heregularly travels to Timor-Leste, where he leads a research team focused on the links malnutrition and pneumonia in children.
Dr Fancourt trained in medicine and bioethics at the University of Otago and completed his PhD at Johns Hopkins University. He has practised at Starship and KidzFrist Hospitals, Auckland, Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, Royal Darwin Hospital, and the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network. He holds a joint appointment at the Menzies School of Health Research, Darwin, where he is program lead for international programs in the Child and Maternal Health Division.
