Dr Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas EdD is an award-winning expert in sustainable fashion and education for sustainable development, named in The SustainabilityX® Magazine’s inaugural Global 50 Women In Sustainability Awards™. With a background in luxury fashion and intercultural creative education, Natascha’s research focuses on sustainable fashion practices, fashion marketing, conscious consumption, and cultural heritage and craft. Natascha was PI on a Collaborate funded research project ‘The cultural value of craft’ working with the Crafts Council developing a Living Lab methodology to measure the cultural value and wellbeing attached to craft by racially minoritized communities.
Natascha is co-author of Fashion Management: A Strategic Approach (Bloomsbury), Co-Editor of the International Journal of Sustainable Fashion and Textiles, Editor-in-Chief for Bloomsbury Fashion Business Cases a digital resource helping students develop essential fashion industry business skills. Natascha is Vice Chair of the Costume Society, and Chair of the UN-supported initiative Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) UK and Ireland Chapter, and a member of the PRME Global Expert Pedagogy Group who developed the Impactful 5 (i5) Responsible Leadership Playbook. Natascha sits on the Advisory Boards of the United Nations Global Compact (UK) and The Council For International African Fashion Education (CIAFE).
Natascha won the Case Centre 2020 Award for Ethics and Social Responsibility, was Runner-Up in the FT’s 2022 Responsible Business Educator Awards and was Highly Commended in the 2020 Women in Marketing Awards Marketing Scientist category recognising her leadership in teaching and research in marketing education. Natascha has worked with organisations including the RSA, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and Crafts Council on sustainable and circular fashion and craft initiatives and is regularly invited as a keynote speaker and panellist, contributing to media pieces on fashion business, culture and sustainability for the BBC, CBC, NYT and NPR.
