Dr Natalie (Nat) Munro is a certified practicing speech language pathologist and Professor of Speech Pathology at Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast, Queensland. After completing her PhD (2008) at The University of Sydney, she has developed a program of speech and language research that spans from toddlerhood through to adolescence.
Dr Munro's research interests include investigating individual differences in children's speech, language and communication development among learners who have developmental language disorder, speech sound disorder, ADHD and autism. Nat also leads intervention and evidence-based practice research to support children and young people with additional communication needs, their families, their educators and their communities.
Nat was an Invited Keynote for International Developmental Language Disorder Research Conference in 2022 and the 2018 National Tour speaker for Speech Pathology Australia. Natalie served as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders and an editorial review member for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Natalie is currently the Editor in Chief for The International Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, a research affiliate at The University of Sydney and a founding committee member of SpeechBITE - a free online database for interventions across the scope of speech pathology practice.
