Natalie Barker-Ruchti

Dr. Natalie Barker-Ruchti is an Associate Professor at the School of Health Sciences, Örebro University, Sweden. She has researched women's artistic gymnastics for over 25 years, highlighting gymnasts' training realities, learning processes, and personal development. Her research focuses on various forms of physical, psychological, and sexual abuse, as well as the long-lasting effects these experiences have on gymnasts' lives. Since 2020, Natalie has collaborated extensively with national gymnastics and sports organizations to prevent abuse and protect athletes.
