- Associate Lecturer in English Literature, The Open University
Dr Naomi Walker is an Associate Lecturer at the Open University. She has published widely on the two Shropshire women writers, Mary Cholmondeley (1859-1925) and Mary Webb (1881-1927), and looked at how their work informed the wider literary culture of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She has used G.I.S. (Geographical Information Systems) to plot both their life and work within the Shropshire landscape.
She co-edited 'A Space of Their Own: Women, Writing and Place 1850-1950' published by Routledge in 2023. She is currently co-editing 'The Edinburgh Companion to the Regional Magazine' which will be published by Edinburgh University Press in 2027.
