- Distinguished Professor of Environmental History, Michigan Technological University
I am a climate historian working on northern ecosystems and communities. I serve as Distinguished Professor of Environmental History at Michigan Technological University. My most recent book, Sustaining Lake Superior (Yale University Press, Fall 2017), examines climate change and toxics in the Lake Superior basin. My current project explores climate change and reindeer/caribou and loon migrations, focused on the upper Great Lakes region of Canada and the United States, with some detours into Mongolia.
