(Hello everyone, my Heiltsuk name is Expert Berry Picker. I am from Bella Bella. I am indeed Heiltsuk. I am earnestly trying to learn Heiltsuk everyday. I work at the Big House.)

My English name is Robyn Humchitt, and I am deeply passionate about digital sovereignty and the revitalization of our culture and language. For the last decade, I have proudly contributed to my Nation's culture and language revitalization efforts, combining technology and education to help preserve and share our heritage.

In 2020, my first year at Heiltsuk Revitalization, I provided tech support for the language team while completing a Haíɫzaqvḷa language proficiency diploma. In my second year, I advanced to the role of educational assistant and taught Haíɫzaqvḷa as a full-time Language Nest teacher—an incredible experience that deepened my connection to our language and its transmission to future generations.

Over the past two years, I have expanded my skills through courses in web development and digital transformation, earning a Digital Transformation Management certificate from Simon Fraser University. These tools empower me to contribute to our Nation’s efforts in preserving our heritage in a digital landscape, ensuring that our stories, language, and traditions thrive for future generations.

I remain dedicated to becoming a fluent speaker of Haíɫzaqvḷa and to continuing the critical work of language and cultural revitalization, ensuring that our Nation’s knowledge and identity are preserved through innovative and sovereign digital practices.
