Myriam MERAD
Research Director/Professor, National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), France
Myriam Merad serves as Research Director/Professor at CNRS - UMR LAMSADE (Dauphine University). She leads research in Risk, resilience and sustainability governance and Decisions in safety, security and Health and Environment. Myriam Merad is primarily interested in the link between Science and Decision and mainly in expertise framing, regulatory and policy analysis and participative/deliberative decision analysis.

Career Overview Myriam began her career in parasismic and civil engineering in Algeria before joining INERIS in 1999. There, she developed methodologies for mining risk prevention and later contributed to European and French research programs on risk governance. From 2005-2008, she headed the “Societal Risk Management” group at INERIS, managing a team of 20. In 2009, she became the Sustainable Development Delegate, defining strategies and action plans for the institute.
In 2016, she was appointed as a Research Director at CNRS. She chaired the ANSES working group on integrated food safety (2017-2020) and has supported IRSN in multi-criteria expertise since 2019. Myriam is also active in several scientific societies and advisory boards, contributing extensively to the field of risk management.
