Mylène Lagarde is Professor of Health Economics in the Department of Health Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Her research focuses on how healthcare providers and patients make decisions in low- and middle-income countries, and how those decisions shape the performance of health systems. She has led major research programmes examining how healthcare workers’ incentives and decisions affect the availability and quality of care, as well as evaluating policy interventions designed to influence health-seeking behaviour.
