Dr Monika Parkinson is a Clinical Psychologist and NIHR Research Fellow at the University of Reading. Monika has over 15 years of clinical experience with adults, young people and families in NHS and private settings. She has conducted a number of research studies on anxiety and depression in young people and has a special interest in the well-being of parents.
Monika is passionate about developing novel and creative ways to encourage people to be their most authentic selves and overcome mental health difficulties. Monika received an NIHR doctoral research fellowship to research treatment for depression in adolescents and how to support their families. In addition to numerous journal publications, she has co-authored two self-help books for young people with depression and their parents and has published a book for clinicians on working with and empowering parents of anxious children.
