I am a current PhD candidate at the University of the West of Scotland. My research focuses on the experiences of people with Young Onset Dementia, specifically in relation to their experiences navigating environments. In addition to exploring their lived experiences I will be investigating the role of visuospatial attention in the wayfinding abilities of people with YOD. Throughout my research I will be working in collaboration of Alzheimer Scotland's Centre for Policy and Practice (ASCPP). Prior to my PhD I worked with Alzheimer Scotland as a Post Diagnostic Support (PDS) Link Worker. My other practitioner based work experience includes working as a Health and Wellbeing assistant for people with complex physical and mental health conditions, and a crisis volunteer for SHOUT. I also have extensive experience in research, with a few of my projects including participatory research methods and self-stigma in young people; sound as a therapeutic tool for Alzheimer's Disease, and gaze-cued orientation of attention.
