- Senior lecturer, UNSW
My academic qualifications include a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering, a Masters degree in Electronic Engineering and a PhD in Auditory Neuroscience. During my PhD and eight years of my postdoctoral career, I have acquired knowledge and research expertise in the area of bionic implants for both hearing and vision, principles of electrode design, principles of electrical stimulation paradigms and more recently, human psychophysics of perception with retinal implants. My current research is focused on improving the resolution of present bionic eye devices through novel electrical stimulation techniques and the use of new electrode materials capable of improved charge injection.
