Mohammad Shamsudduha

(He/Him)
  • Professor of Water Crisis and Risk Reduction, UCL

I am Professor of Water Crisis and Risk Reduction at UCL Department of Risk and Disaster Reduction and a geoscientist by training. My research focuses on groundwater and freshwater resources, climate change, water-related hazards, disaster risk reduction and sustainable development, particularly in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. I use Earth Observation, remote sensing, geospatial analysis and models to understand how changing hazards interact with human exposure and vulnerability. My work aims to translate scientific evidence into practical approaches to water security, climate adaptation, early warning and disaster resilience.
