Mohammad Hassan Ranjbar

Dr Mohammad Hassan Ranjbar is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Australian Rivers Institute, Griffith University, Australia. His research mainly focuses on individual-based modelling (IBM, also known as agent-based modelling) of harmful freshwater cyanobacterial blooms to improve mechanistic understanding and prediction of the physical and physiological processes governing bloom dynamics. He maintains active collaborations with the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (Germany), the Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology (China), the University of Western Australia (Australia), and Virginia Tech (USA). In addition to these research partnerships, Dr Ranjbar has established productive industry collaborations through his leadership of consulting and commercial research projects. These projects have involved close engagement with water managers (e.g., Seqwater), environmental consultants (e.g., Alluvium), and community stakeholders (e.g., New Zealand Lakes Water Quality Society) to address practical environmental management challenges and translate research into real-world outcomes.
