Mitch Olson teaches Screen and TV Writing at Kennesaw State University. He is also the Founder and CEO of Point South Productions, an Atlanta-based film and television production company.

Prior to moving to Georgia in 2018, he worked in Los Angeles in development and on shows for NBC, Fox, CBS and Netflix. He has served as a judge for NBC's Writers on the Verge, Nashville Film Festival. He currently serves on the board of Step Up and Pitch and Film Impact Georgia. Both are non-profit organizations whose missions support emerging content creators from diverse backgrounds. He has worked closely with the Georgia Film Academy and Trilith Institute to develop curriculum and train teachers from around the state so that middle school and high school students have early exposure to dramatic writing and clear pathways from sixth grade through graduate school and into industry.
