Dr. Mireia Freixa is Emeritus Professor at the Department of Art History at the Universitat de Barcelona and member of GRACMON_UB, Research Group of Catalan Art and Design Contemporary http://www.ub.edu/gracmon/, at the same university. She is academic of the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi. Her research topics are the artistic production of Catalan Modernisme and Noucentisme (especially with regard to the history of architecture and the applied and decorative arts), the study of the Sources of the History of Art and the review of the discipline from the Gender perspective.
She has been a visiting professor at the Université Lumière Lyon between 1995 and 2007 and visiting researcher at the Victorian & Albert Museum (academic year 1993-1994), at Kingston University, the Royal Institute of British Architects in London (academic year 2003-2004) and the Art Institute of Chicago (March-July 2011).
