I'm a professor of education at Messiah College in Pennsylvania. I'm the author of several articles on a variety of topics related to the history of education and several more on homeschooling. I've authored two books, _American Educational History Revisited: A Critique of Progress_ (Teachers College Press 2003) and _Homeschool: An American History_ (Palgrave McMillan 2008, revised edition 2017), and edited a third, _The Wiley Handbook of Home Education Research_ (Wiley Blackwell, 2017).

I'm a founding member of the International Center for Home Education Research and oversee the Reviews section of that website.
