Currently a Ph.D. student at Durham University, UK, researching the potential risk of fluid migration from deep shales to shallow groundwater resources in the context of hydraulic fracturing (fracking). Holds a first class B.Sc. in Geophysics with Geology from Durham University and an M.Sc. with Distinction from Heriot-Watt University, UK. Has researched under contract for the Researching Fracking (ReFINE) consortium on a number of occasions and his Ph.D. is linked to the consortium. Alongside his Ph.D research he undertakes work with Professor Gillian Foulger on induced earthquakes.
