In 2016 I retired from Flinders University as Associate Professor in Screen and Media. My PhD was from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my undergraduate degree from RMIT. I have a strong interest in Australian cinema and Asian cinema (I established an offshore teaching program in Hong Kong and have attended the Hong Kong International Film Festival for the past twenty years. I have worked as program consultant and writer for the Adelaide Film Festival since its inception in 2002, and I have also programmed for the OzAsia Festival.
