Michael Szollosy

I have a PhD in English Literature and Psychoanalytic Studies from the University of Sheffield. I began teaching literature, culture and critical theory at the School of English in Sheffield; I also taught psychoanalytic and psychotherapeutic studies at the School of Health and Related Research. I then moved to Psychology, studying the cultural and social impacts of robotics, AI, VR and other emerging technologies, including ethics, participatory design, and public engagement.

I am presently a Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at Sheffield, working on the Wellcome Trust-funded project, Imagining Technologies for Disability Futures. I am also co-Founder of the start-up now called BOW, a spinout of the University of Sheffield based on the work we did on immersive technologies, education and social impacts in robotics.
