Michael La Corte

Michael La Corte received his doctorate in Stuttgart in 2019 with a comprehensive inventory of early modern emblematics: "Emblematics as part of the secular interior design of German castles and manor houses. Occurrence - form - function." Between 2011 and 2014, he was head of the media library at the Institute of Art History at the University of Stuttgart and project manager for the digital inventory of the in-house glass slide archive and the Otto Schmitt image archive. Teaching and research focuses in Stuttgart were primarily on early modern emblematics, baroque interior design, art in architecture and the art monuments of Baden-Württemberg. Between 2006 and 2020, Mr. La Corte also worked for numerous museums and associations with various arrangements in cultural mediation, including the Literature Museum of Modernism in Marbach, the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg, the world's largest pig museum in Stuttgart, the Swabian Homeland Association, the House of History of Baden-Württemberg and the Hotel Silber learning and memorial site.

Michael La Corte came to the University of Tübingen Museum MUT in 2019 as a scientific trainee and has been a research associate since April 2020. His main areas of work include curation and exhibition management, cultural mediation and public relations as well as the design and editorial support of print media. He is also a lecturer in the Museum & Collections Master's program and gives seminars in cooperation with the Tübingen Archaeology and Art History departments.
