Mike Gagan is an Honorary Professor in the School of Science at the University of Wollongong and the School of the Environment at the University of Queensland. Mike's active scientific partnership with colleagues at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (now BRIN) extends all the way back to 1994. The team's abiding interest in the geochemistry of speleothems and raised-reef corals aims to understand the deep-time history of warm pool sea-surface temperatures, monsoonal rainfall, and environmental hazards with the potential to influence early human migration patterns in Australasia.
