Michael Asiedu is a scholar of comparative politics whose work examines how technology, law, and political authority intersect across African contexts. He holds a PhD in International Affairs and Political Economy from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, where he is affiliated with the Institute of Political Science. He is an incoming Fellow at the Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA) at the University of Ghana, Legon. His research on misinformation, internet shutdowns, and African judicial politics is forthcoming or under review at the South African Journal of International Affairs, Democratization, and Political Studies Review, and he contributes to the University of St. Gallen's annual Elite Quality Index report.
