Mia is undertaking her PhD at the School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Melbourne. She is interested in rural livelihood changes in relation to intensifying non-timber forest product commodification in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Mia's PhD explores the intersectional impacts of the edible birds' nest trade in West Borneo.
