Merrick Morley is an urban researcher and designer specialising in community resilience, multi-residential housing, and the social life of apartment buildings. His work combines architectural design, urban planning, and complex-systems thinking to understand how everyday spatial, governance, and participatory practices shape resident wellbeing. Merrick’s research draws on mixed-methods case studies, delivered in collaboration with government, industry, and community partners. He teaches architectural design and urban planning, and is committed to translating evidence into better apartment policy, more responsive design processes, and resilient neighbourhoods. His public scholarship engages broad audiences through writing, speaking, and design-led communication.
