Mercedes Veselka is graduate student at York University in the Faculty of Education in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She studies the intersection of adult literacy and language development, particularly focused on curriculum development and teacher experience and agency. She is the recipient of both SSHRC and OGS scholarships alongside the Chancellor's medal from Carleton University. She is also a certified TESL Ontario English language educator with experiences teaching in community-based language programs in Ontario.
