Melody Wise (she/her) is a community-based researcher and master’s student at the University of British Columbia's School of Community and Regional Planning. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at Queen's University, where she was recognized as a Chancellor's Scholar. Her academic and professional work engages with spatial politics and the implementation of macro and mezzo-level policy/program interventions that address health inequities among marginalized and criminalized women in urban contexts, with a particular focus on issues related to gender-based violence. Melody is researcher with the AESHA Project (An Evaluation of Sex Workers’ Health Access) and volunteers on the Board of Directors for SWAN Vancouver, supporting culturally safe, confidential labour and legal resources for im/migrant sex workers.
