To understand the different economic impacts of natural disasters, we looked at 47 major floods and 36 major bushfires in Australia.
We estimate 39% of all jobs in Australia can be done from home, with men more likely to have teleworkable jobs.
Low-income earners, small-business owners and part-time workers are most likely to lose income following a disaster.
