Meg Samuelson is associate professor in the Department of English and Creative Writing at The University of Adelaide, associate professor extraordinary at Stellenbosch University and an associate member of the Oceanic Humanities for the Global South project at the University of Witwatersrand.
Her current research is in literatures of the south, oceanic studies and Anthropocene thought and includes studies of coastal form and coastal thought on the African Indian Ocean littoral, world maritime literatures, the southern orientations of JM Coetzee and sharks as uncanny figures of racial terror in the Anthropocene. She co-edits the Palgrave series Maritime Literature and Culture.
