- Lecturer, University of the Witwatersrand
Born and raised in Bulawayo. I hold a BSc with Honours degree in Forest Resources & Wildlife Management and a PhD in Zoology. My previous conservation experience includes designing and managing projects on endangered animal species (namely black rhinos, cheetahs and African wild dogs) and sampling waterbirds in the southern African region for avian influenza and avian malaria prevalence. I previously served as a Species Programme Coordinator for World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) South Africa. My broad research interests include ornithology, wildlife ecology, conservation biology, and landscape ecology. I have particular interests in understanding animal movement patterns. I am also interested in how spatial scale affects inferences in organism-environment relationships. Most of my research interests are aimed at informing Wildlife management practices. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, watching birds and teaching local children about nature.
