I earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). While at UMBC, I received an Undergraduate Research Award (URA) to conduct research using Bayesian epidemic models to forecast the spread of the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria. This work was later expanded to COVID-19 forecasting in collaboration with the Nigerian government. I then joined Drexel University as a research assistant, contributing to an urban metabolism project focused on sustainability policy and reducing energy demand in the built environment. In that role, I helped apply machine learning and Explainable AI (XAI) to produce sector-specific forecasts of energy use across residential, commercial, and transportation systems. I am currently a PhD candidate and researcher at Drexel University on an NSF-funded project that uses machine learning to improve the mapping and modeling of gentrification in Philadelphia, PA.
