Maud's research focuses on the politics of environmental knowledge -- whose knowledge matter and with what implications -- in relation to the governance of environmental change. Her PhD focused on the institutionalisation of global environmental expertise, offering the first ethnographic account of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). Recent work investigates nature-based solutions, biodiversity finance, and the relationship between environmental science and green finance.

Maud is associate editor for the journal Environmental Science & policy, and a member of the Knowledge Coordination Body of EKLIPSE, a knowledge brokering mecanism on biodiversity and ecosystem degradation operating at EU level.
