Matthew Leggatt is Senior Lecturer in English and American Literature. He is author of the monographs Play in Utopian and Dystopian Fiction (Liverpool University Press, 2025), Cultural and Political Nostalgia in the Age of Terror (Routledge, 2018) and editor of the collections Wastelands and Wonderlands: Utopias and Dystopias in Film and Literature (SUNY Press, 2026), and Was it Yesterday? Nostalgia in Contemporary Film and Television (SUNY Press, 2022). His work has been published in numerous books and journals and he co-hosts the Utopian and Dystopian Fictions podcast.
