Matthew Graves is Professor in Contemporary British and Commonwealth Studies (Australia-New Zealand) at Aix-Marseille University and member of the Institute for the Study of French-Australian Relations (ISFAR). His research interests lie at the crossroads of transnational history and political geography and he has published widely on issues of collective memory and identity in 19th-21st century Britain and Australia, with a focus on their formal and information international relations with France and shared war memory. He is a member of the Democratic Alliances in the Indo-Pacific research programme (DAIP).

Matthew Graves est professeur de Civilisation britannique contemporaine et Études du Commonwealth à l'Université d'Aix Marseille et membre de l'Institut pour l'étude des relations franco-australiennes (ISFAR). Ses recherches se situent au carrefour de l'histoire transnationale et de la géographie politique. Il a publié sur les questions de mémoire collective et d'identité en Grande-Bretagne et en Australie XIXe-XXIe siècles, en mettant l'accent sur les relations internationales formelles et informelles avec la France, et les politiques commémoratives comparées. Il fait partie de l'équipe de recherche Alliances démocratiques dans l'Indo-Pacifique (DAIP).
