Matt Balogh is a behavioural scientist, specialising in the study of how people manage the electronic records that they and their households receive and must deal with in daily life at home, such as bills, receipts and warranties.
Matt Balogh began his career in market research as a project director with Reark Research, and later as a consultant with BIS Shrapnel, now Oxford Economics. From 1989 to 1997 Matt was Group Marketing Services Manager at News Ltd, co-ordinating 12 marketing services departments across Australia, and overseeing over 60 research projects nationally. Matt was involved in the strategic planning of new publications, the launch of Foxtel, and other initiatives. He also chaired the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers Association Marketing Advisory Committee and the Newspaper Advertising Bureau’s Research sub-committee.
In 1997 Matt became general manager of Quadrant Research, which was acquired by The Gallup Organization, of which he became vice-president. In 2001 Matt established McNair Ingenuity Research, which later became McNair yellowSquares. In Matt’s role of Managing Director for 18 years, he oversaw the company growing to become a premium industry provider with a large call centre. Matt specialised in multi-lingual and Indigenous research, particularly in the government health and media sectors. In 2015 NSW Health transferred their population research division to McNair.
