Massumeh H. Toosi is a PhD student in philanthropic studies at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, where she takes an interdisciplinary approach to examining economic ideologies, culture, and inequality, along with humanitarian and development issues in the Middle East. She is from Iran and holds an academic background in sociology. She also served as executive manager of the EthnicIRAN Project, an anthropological initiative that documents the historical and cultural heritage of various ethnic groups of Iran.
