Mary C. Lavissière is Associate Professor of Applied Foreign Languages at Nantes Université. Her numerous publications in international journals focus on discourse units in legal texts and their application in discourse analysis and language learning. She is on the board of several journals on linguistics and specialized language (ELAD-SILDA, International Journal of Language and Law). She is principal investigator for the nationally-funded interdisciplinary research project Lexhnology (ANR-22-CE38-0004) which integrates the fields of discourse analysis, language learning and teaching and natural language processing. She has co-coordinated the research team on specialized language in her research institution, the CRINI, since 2020 and the SIG on legal English for the learned society GERAS since 2024.
