Mary Buchanan

Mary Buchanan's research interests surround reducing disparities for children and young people in Aotearoa. In particular, her PhD research examined protective factors following childhood adversity for mental health and socioeconomic outcomes. Her current work surround the health and wellbeing impacts of homelessness for children and young people, and the barriers to accessing school for children experiencing homelessness.

Dr Buchanan has a background in developmental psychology, and experience working as a support worker, and teacher assistant.
