Martijn Konings

Martijn Konings is Professor of Political Economy and Social Theory at the University of Sydney, where he also serves as Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He is the author of The Development of American Finance (2011), The Emotional Logic of Capitalism (2015), and Capital and Time (2018). His most recent book, co-authored with Lisa Adkins and Melinda Cooper, is The Asset Economy (Polity, 2020). Together with Lisa Adkins and Gareth Bryant he directs a Strategic Research Theme on Asset Ownership and the New Inequality. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Distinktion: Journal of Social Theory.
