Ph.D. and Master’s in Psychology from the Universidad de los Andes, Associate Professor, and Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences. Her research focuses on examining psychological and behavioral phenomena related to violence, ranging from micro-level family dynamics to macro-level cultural contexts, with the goal of promoting peacebuilding processes.
Her most recent projects include:
SERES: Peace Begins at Home – This initiative aims to foster positive parenting practices to reduce aggressive and violent behaviors among children and adolescents in school settings. As part of this project, contributions were made to the drafting and approval of Law 2089 of 2021, which prohibits physical punishment in Colombia. The initiative also validated interventions and programs designed to promote peace within families. Her studies focus on family dynamics, democratic parenting styles, and positive parenting practices.
Education, Rural Development, and Reconciliation (EDUCARE) – This project contributes to the implementation of two key points of the Final Peace Agreement, focusing on the social reintegration of former FARC combatants and their families, while also advancing rural education initiatives.
Currently, she teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses and leads the Research Group on Aggression and Violence. Furthermore, she serves as an advisor to institutions and governmental bodies on peacebuilding processes.
