Mark Ungrin is an interdisciplinary biomedical researcher funded by all three of Canada's Tri-Agencies (CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC), and an associate professor at the University of Calgary. The central motivation of his research is the efficient translation of science into positive impact. This includes technical advances (his AggreWell organoid technology is in use on every continent except Antarctica, and on the International Space Station) but also the critical areas of scientific rigour, reproducibility and integrity; science-based decision-making; and the assessment and management of risk around biological systems.
