Mark Paige researches legal issues in education and their educational policy dimensions. In particular, he focuses on the law relates to teacher evaluation, collective bargaining, public school finance, as well as special education law. His work has crossed boundaries between scholars and practitioners, with research appearing in both leading scholarly and practical journals.
Prior to working in higher education, he represented public school districts in employment and special education matters before state administrative bodies and courts, including the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
He teaches in the Department of Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts and UMASS Law.
He received his law degree and Ph.D. in Educational Policy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
