Marine J. Petit

(she/her)

Dr Marine Petit is a virologist specializing in vector-virus interactions, with a particular focus on how arthropods such as ticks and insects transmit and amplify emerging viral diseases.
Marine's research team develops innovative molecular and cellular tools to investigate tick immune responses to viral infection and study virus replication in tick cell systems. By understanding the fundamental mechanisms of tick-virus interactions, her group aims to identify novel strategies for preventing tick-borne virus transmission.
Currently based at the University of Surrey, Marine leads a dynamic team of early-career researchers tackling the growing global challenge of vector-borne diseases.
